Yes, the luggage storage is free of charge and is located in the basement. Please find further information in the email you received with the check-in information or contact us for more information.
Yes, it’s no problem to issue an invoice for the reservation. Please send us the company details and note that the invoice is in EUR.
For direct bookings, the cancellation notice is 30 days prior to the scheduled arrival. Any cancellations made with less notice results in 100% cancellation charge. Sif Apartments will charge 100% in case of last minute cancellation or no show.
Please note that if you booked through a third party agent, all changes and cancellations must be made through them. Different cancellation terms can apply.
Yes, there are elevators in the building.
No, pets are not allowed in Sif Apartments. Even though we love pets, unfortunately some guests and residents in the building can be allergic and therefor pets are not allowed.
Yes, you are welcome to extend your stay in the apartment as long as it is available. Please contact us for further information and we will happily help you.
Smoking is not allowed in the apartments. Iceland has a ban on smoking in shared indoor places such as restaurants, cafés, stores, bars and night clubs. It’s also forbidden to smoke indoors in common areas.
Cleaning is not included in the rates during your stay but we will happily do a light cleaning for an added cost. The cost for final cleaning is automatically added to your booking, the price is EUR 36.

In short: YES. Not only is it safe, but the water is excellent! So please don’t buy bottled water.
95% of all water in Iceland comes from springs in the ground, so it never comes in touch with any pollution. Unlike in many neighbouring countries, the Icelandic water is free of chlorine, calcium, and nitrate. The quality of tap water in Reykjavík is well monitored, so you are not to worry!
There are banks and cash machines at the airport and all over the city and they are in service 24/7. The nearest bank is at Borgartún 19. You can also use credit cards almost everywhere in Iceland with no minimum charge.
We do not recommend buying Icelandic currency in your home country, you might get a very bad exchange rate since the Icelandic Krona is such a small currency.
Yes, we offer free wifi in the entire building. You can find the codes for the wifi in the email you received with the key codes a few days prior to your arrival.
No, there’s no free dedicated parking spot for the apartment. You can find Pay & Display parking spots outside and you might be able to find some free parking spots on side streets. Please note that you don’t have to pay for parking on Sundays.
Another option is to use the underground (paid) parking garage under the building. No reservation needed. You can find more information here.
Yes, you can definitely cook some great meals in the apartment! All our apartments have a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, fridge, coffee machine, microwave, kettle, coffee, tea and kitchen utensils.
The apartment is equipped with bed linen, towels, toilet paper, shower gel, hair dryer, coffee & tea as well as kitchen essentials.
You’re welcome to arrive late as we are a self-check apartment building. Please keep your neighbours in mind if you’re arriving late in the evening or early in the morning and try to keep the noise to a minimum.
Generally no. However, if the apartment is available the night before and is clean, then you are welcome to check in early. We send out an automated email to all our guests as soon as the apartment has been cleaned and is ready for check-in.
Sif Apartments are self-check-in apartments. Three days before arrival, we will send you an email, containing details of how to get access to your apartment. There is no physical key and all access is with a keypad for the main entrance and the apartment itself.
